Sensory play at Pluto Durbanville

OUR
STORY

Hi! I’m Roxanne,

the proud owner of Pluto

Creativity, kids, and nutrition have always been at the core of my identity. I've channelled this passion into Pluto - a place I was desperately seeking as a mother with two very curious littles. It's a haven where I (as a mom) can unwind and revel in its beauty.

Pluto is an explosion of imagination, vibrant colours, nature, and simply put, really cool things for everyone to enjoy.

At Pluto, we foster independent play, encouraging your child to utilise their senses to explore, learn, and, of course, have an absolute blast! This exploration takes place among friends, peers, and our extended community. The Reggio Emilia approach (a fancy term for this structure of learning) guides our philosophy.

A lot of love and special times are shared at Pluto

Now for a little more about me. I am a Capetonian, a wife, a mom of two, and a dietitian. My roots lie in Durbanville where I grew up and attended school. I studied at Stellenbosch University and following that, I completed my community service year in Barberton. Fate smiled upon me and I married the guy I met in Durbanville. We embarked on an adventure to America for a few years (go Texans!) and had two beautiful children, aged 2 and 4 now. We find ourselves back where it all began: Durbanville.

It’s important to note that I purposely titled this section "About us" because it's not just about me. Pluto includes my (our!) entire community - family, friends, and even those I haven't met yet. The value of community should never be underestimated. It ensures a sense of belonging, support, diversity, treasured times, and most importantly, joy.

I would love to welcome you and your kid(s) to this magical, peaceful place that is full of love in the very heart of where it all began for me: Durbanville. At Pluto, we take immense pride in our investment in the Durbanville community and the families it comprises.

With love,

Roxanne
